gottawonderToday I am grateful for:
Very warm weather.
We had a good day in the city. There was no "mission" today, other than to go to the art gallery.
The main exhibit was Picasso and William Kentridge prints, which was very interesting. I did my thing of talking to the gallery attendant, and asking him about the exhibit, since you always learn more when you do so.
After, we went for a walk around the Legislative buildings, which have nice grounds and gardens. The gardens aren't doing much yet, but it's nice and green, and a pleasant place to walk.
We went to a health food restaurant that is kind of meant to be convenient, but it wasn't a great day for convenience. There was ONE PERSON working there today! So he was taking orders/running the till, and cooking/assembling (it's not heavy on cooking, but it does require food prep in the form of chopping vegetables and assembling the meals). There weren't a ton of people there, but it took about half an hour to get our food, when usually it's less than ten minutes.
I was trying not to be annoyed by this, as we really weren't in a hurry, but of course on our end you don't really know how long it's going to take, so it bothers you more than if you knew it would take half an hour.
The poor guy was really struggling, so I said something nice to him about how well he was doing, considering he was the only person there. He really was, too.
We were right next to the used book store, popped our heads in, did find a few things, and admired their lovely book store cat.
We didn't have any other things on our list, so we headed home.
We watched "Three Thousand Years of Longing" which was a great movie.
