May. 7th, 2025 01:40 amToday I am grateful for:
Warm weather, though WINDY.
It's very dry, and there's a lot of tension about the potential for fires. This seems to be how spring and summer are around here now, which is strange because some years I can remember being SO wet.
I spoke with Sister E, and she told me a more complete story about Uncle M. He got out of the care home somehow, and was trying to walk to his house, and fell. His former home is across from the Lodge, and someone saw him and took him back.
So, while I certainly understand how he might get out, because he can present as being pretty okay, I do wonder how the staff didn't notice he was missing.
This place doesn't have the funding to get those alert bracelets that set off an alarm if a resident goes past the door.
It was good to have a long, unhurried conversation with Sister E. Often I catch her when she's busy, and she tries to talk, but it ends up being unsatisfying.
I did chores, and by then my Sweetie got home.
He went out to clean the garage. It's a strange phenomenon how much time he can spend in there cleaning, but it's not really clean or different looking to me.
He said he agreed that maybe he should just get going and build the kayak from the kit we got years ago, but that he has to get the garage very clean first. I feel like it's more procrastination. JUST START BUILDING IT!!!
No. I imagine he will take weeks to be thoughtful about it, and think about how to start. Sigh.
I went to get fuel, then headed to the barn.
I talked with R about how well the youth clinic went on Sunday, and how amazing it it to think that she was able to use every single horse at her place to work with kids, many who knew nothing about Liberty.
River was having a hard time breathing today, with all the wind and dust, but he did okay. I tweaked the freestyle some more, and it's slowly becoming more solid.
I'm still not happy with the pattern working with the music edits. I worked on that last night, and it's BETTER, but not perfect.
The wind is just NUTS! It's drying everything out, too. We need rain.
I came home and let Wonder and Dandy into the bigger pasture with their grazing masks on while my Sweetie and I ate supper and watched an episode of "Fringe".
