May. 8th, 2025 01:11 amToday I am grateful for:
Gorgeous weather, with less wind. Still no rain in the forecast.
I chose to talk with Trainwreck, which was okay, but I don't know what she's getting at with Mom's situation. It sounds like she'd like Mom to just die and end her suffering, but I'm like...so what would you have us do, exactly?
Mom's current infection, if treated properly, could clear up. If not, death by infection isn't pretty either, is it.
I know on some level what she means is "why do people have to suffer, why can't we just die nicely", since it also seems like she can't deal with life either, it just lacks maturity.
So, knowing that Trainwreck is pretty much never really thinking clearly or with much compassion for others, I think I can move on from that line of thinking.
I personally think that if we/the medical community went through all the trouble of surgery for her hip, why not do our best to get her on the mend again.
Moving on.
I did chores and such and then headed to the barn to see River for our lesson.
I was pleased that R was more prompt at our start time today, which is great and I hope we can do this going forward, consistently.
We ran through the freestyle, and it's feeling more "together" now. I feel like I know what we're doing, at least, and I'm almost there with getting the music synced with the action.
Then we went outside and worked on the dressage pattern, (a very basic training level one), and we did a pretty good job of it. Not fancy, but the idea is there. We could polish it a bit before we do it for a show that's coming up (another virtual show).
My Sweetie showed up as we were finishing up, just to be social. We chatted with R for a while.
Then we came home.
We did one lap around the horse pasture with Roxy, then he went in to start supper and I worked with Dandy and Wonder.
They did well tonight. They do still leave a bit in the big pasture, but in general they are pretty content to come with me to walk around, and fairly relaxed about my intentions.
We ate and watched an episode of "Fringe".
Annoying that our neighbor was having some kind of fire in his yard, when there is a fire ban, and everything is bone dry.
