May. 9th, 2025 01:17 amToday I am grateful for:
Beautiful weather, though still no rain.
Getting decent sleep.
My Sweetie was home in decent time after work to help me in the garden.
I dug out some ancient dressage test score sheets for R to look at, as she is trying to get a better understanding of what the judges might be looking for, since YELO is now doing some dressage tests.
Before he got home, I did dishes, some laundry, changed the sheets; together we changed the cat litter and swept up the sun room.
We did chores. My Sweetie dumped out the pony/goat water and scrubbed it out and refilled it.
Then we went to the garden and dug out grass and dandelions and got a fair amount cleared. He tilled the parts we cleared, and we got potatoes planted in part of it. All told, we spent about three hours doing that.
Then we came in, made supper (I started the quinoa earlier, so that made it pretty easy) and watched an episode of "Fringe".

Date: 2025-05-09 10:14 pm (UTC)You can't just till the roots, they will all come back as new grass if you do, so using a fork and pulling them out as best you can is what has to be done before tilling.
Gardening for us is almost like a form of martial arts.
