May. 12th, 2025 12:47 amToday I am grateful for:
Gorgeous but dry weather. The ground is actually hard from lack of rain.
Getting good sleep.
My Sweetie got up early again to go help our friends with that house again.
Isn't it amazing, the dedication and hard work my husband will put into his days off for other people and THEIR projects.
Today, he says he fixed a closet door for them, did some electrical work to get some fixtures working again, and something else. He helped them move all kinds of stuff outside. Yesterday, he and his friend laid an entire bedroom floor in vinyl planks, while also moving a lot of stuff outside.
In the entire weekend, I got him to finally hang a cupboard, only because I asked him to do it, pointedly, which took all of five minutes, and isn't finished because the doors need to be added.
He didn't want to do anything else today, because he felt he had worked hard enough at our friend's parent's house, and also wanted to go for a twelve mile long bike ride with a friend.
After doing chores, I went to the riding barn to see River.
Naturally he still isn't breathing well with the dust and dryness. He did a decent job though, and I made sure he got lots of breaks.
We ran through our freestyle a bit, I stood up, and we went outside to work on elements of the dressage pattern.
At that point, my Sweetie dropped by after biking, and another rider that I haven't seen since last fall because she wasn't coming on Sundays for a long time, finally was here at the same time. We chatted a bit and caught up on her news (she and her fiancee are busy wedding planning, and looking for a bigger house).
We went home, ate, and watched an episode of Fringe (and folded and started more laundry).
