Today I am grateful for:

Some sleep, though it didn't feel like quite enough.

Gorgeous weather. The rain is all soaked up, but things are fresher today. The air is less dusty.

Conversations with Sister E and Trainwreck that were just sort of chatter to distract.

Trainwreck was really bad at cutting me off, talking over me, and just general rudeness that way. I could barely speak. I'm sure she's upset, but does that mean you can't be polite?

For whatever reason, she's kind of obsessed about "what if Mom dies this week, and then it messes up trying to go to Aunt E's service...too bad they couldn't just do them both at the same time". She's worried about CONVENIENCE.

Then, she was trash-talking our niece who has four kids by three different fathers (newest ones are twins). I tried to kind of state that our niece isn't exactly alone in our family for making those kinds of choices (Trainwreck had three kids by different fathers, but never seems to think of it that way. To her, they "just happened", so it's not like she is trashy...it just happened).

I agree that it's some problematic things that lead to someone making those choices, but it sure shouldn't be Trainwreck criticizing anyone.

I managed to still do some useful things. I put away the clean dishes, did some laundry, vacuumed. I found some of this year's paintings to take home (I've done this for a few years, because it gives me something to show people to kind of demonstrate what I do).

When my Sweetie got home, we took two vehicles to our local mechanic's place so that I could leave my car there for a day or so. It needs the tires changed from winter to summer, and an oil change.

Then I went to the riding barn to see River, and my Sweetie brought his bike so he could ride it home.

Things were chaotic at the barn too, which made it tough given my state of feeling unsettled.

R's dad was using a skidsteer to clear the winter's accumulated manure from the pens (right beside the outdoor arena), the horses were in the yard instead of their usual pens (she can shut a gate to keep them in), R was working with her horses at the same time as I was trying to use the outdoor arena, which wasn't too bad but she was working on Liberty stuff that made her position unpredictable. There were obstacles set up there too, making it tough to work on the dressage pattern.

I guess on some level it was good to work with River when everything was chaos. It didn't feel like a peaceful, focused ride, but I guess it was something.

I came home and for the first time all day, felt some kind of relaxation as my Sweetie and I walked around the horse pasture with Roxy for half an hour.

Then we came in, ate, and watched an episode of "Fringe".
