May. 30th, 2025 11:54 pmToday I am grateful for:
Very solid sleep. Maybe it's all the yard work we've been doing.
Nice to be with my Sweetie. He had today off (worked the last 17 days, this is what happens during a project shut down).
Once we got going, we went outside and went back at it in the garden. Pulling grass mostly, then adding compost.
It makes for a boring post, because that was most of our day.
Then I went to see River, and he went to the climbing gym.
River was extremely pokey, tired from the heat and yesterday's high winds, I imagine. So I worked on clear communication and tuning in with each other at a walk. He was very in tune today, zen like. It was very lovely.
Then I stayed and worked with Ferrari, during the young woman with health challenge's lesson. He was a lot of fun to work with at Liberty. Very forward, very sensitive. A very different horse from River.
Chatted a bit with R.
Then I went home, and my Sweetie was already back, putting more compost on the garden.
He finished up with that, and then tilled. I kept pulling grass roots out of a walking path between two bean trellises.
Then we came in and ate.

Date: 2025-06-01 06:35 am (UTC)The last couple of summers we were really on edge about fires, again, not that far away. Our riding barn made a plan for evacuation if it came to that.
Things are pretty bad in parts of Manitoba, though.
