Today I am grateful for:

Okay sleep, though disrupted a fair bit by my husband getting up earlier but still being in the house.

Still, it was nice to have him to snuggle with, instead of him getting up at 4:30 am to go to work.

It was cold and rainy today, but I am grateful for the rain. It is strange to have it THIS cold in August, which is often a very hot month.

The farrier tried to postpone AGAIN, but I wasn't having it. Enough is enough, come and do my poor animal's feet for crying out loud. I know she's been sick, but if she can do OTHER people's animals, she can come and do ours.

So she did, and it was fine. Wonder, Dandy, and Ursula are reasonably well behaved, are not hard to get to (some people make this farrier walk out into a field to get the animals, but ours are close to the house). They don't need special work done, just normal enough trims.

Anyhow, everything went well once she was finally here, and Wonder especially really, really needed her feet done.

I also showed the farrier some of the things I've been doing with Dandy at Liberty, and I think she enjoyed it.

Then I picked some more raspberries for R at the barn, and headed there to work with River.

My husband spent the day getting his hair cut, getting the mail and paying the bills, and meeting up with his cousin and her family in the city. They did go to the climbing gym together. That's what he tries to do with most people, to either go biking with him or to the climbing gym. Could be worse.

River was feeling good today. He does better in cool weather, especially rainy days. His eye looks normal, and he didn't seem lame.

We worked on all our normal stuff, and our homework, and he had decent energy and good attention.

Then I stayed to work with a pony named Poppy during the woman with health challenges's lesson.

Poppy is a very pokey pony, who walks and trots so slowly you'd think it was more work to be that slow than to just step out. I had to really put some energy into getting her to move, and it was probably almost as much effort for me as it was for her.

R was surprised that we still had MORE raspberries to give her, but our patch is really, really producing this year. I'm happy to give them to someone rather than have them go to waste.

Then I came home, let everyone out for a while, and my Sweetie was home about the same time as myself. We cooked and ate supper and chatted about our days.

Then we brought everyone back in, and he was tuckered out and went to bed.
