Aug. 27th, 2025 02:10 amToday I am grateful for:
Good sleep. I might as well, since it was too hot to do much of anything outside today.
I spoke with Trainwreck, who sounded okay today. She is hoping to visit some of our family soon, and might see Sister S.
She said that Sister S did finally have an appointment with a physiotherapist, but hadn't heard how it went.
Sister S keeps telling me that she is "working on walking", but I don't think she's actually walking very much at all, and Trainwreck concurs.
Then I had some frustration with my Sweetie again, because he's planning on helping friends of his that he climbs with to move.
While there is nothing intrinsically wrong with that, it again feels like he spends a great deal of time helping other people. It does often come back to us in their assistance with things, but sometimes I am just tired of him putting so much energy into helping other people when our projects here at home require so much attention.
They are fairly young people, and are in no way unable to move on their own. He just wants to help them.
I mean, even if we didn't end up working most of the time on house stuff, we could just spend some time together instead of working so hard for other people.
I don't know if my feelings are valid, or if I'm just trying to control too much, but I feel like he's putting a lot of his resources (time and energy) into other people's needs instead of our own here at home.
He just seems to need so much validation from other people, and HELPING is how he does it.
I went to see River, and it was so hot that he had very little energy, though I do think he played it up a bit too. I was trying to only do some ground work and yields, and keep everything to mostly a walk, but I was a little frustrated when he just ignored me at times to stand there.
I mean, it's hot, but he can WALK!
Anyhow, I kept it low energy so he wouldn't overheat.
My Sweetie did join me at the barn.
It's fly season right now, and the barn is over run with them. It's very annoying for R, who has to keep the feed buckets clean.
We came home, and picked one thing to tackle, and we settled on trying to cut down the huge weeds (horses don't eat them) in Wonder's corral that might be contributing to her itchiness.
We worked for likely an hour and a half, with my husband using the weed whacker and me pulling, and we tossed a mountain of weeds over the fence to be picked up later with the truck and...I don't know, taken to the dump?
We likely only got about half of the weeds out of her corral, but at least she has more room where it's open and they aren't brushing against her.
Then we came in and ate.
