Aug. 29th, 2025 01:01 amToday I am grateful for:
Sleep, though it was pretty warm, and a bit of a sweaty sleep.
Not needing to do much outside, which is good, since it was very hot again.
I spoke with Sister E, to talk about yesterday's lesson with Dandy and R, and how nice it was that R came out.
Not being able to work in the heat make me feel kind of restless, as I did want to do more on the future pottery studio, but after doing just the normal chores and being soaking wet at the end of them, I had to admit it wasn't a good idea.
I did take our woven floor rug outside to wash it in a big stock tank, though I don't know if it will do much good. It's a light color, and the "up "side" was very grey compared to the underside. It has to help.
We used to have a dark brown area rug that I thought would have hidden the yuck better, but the cat hair really showed up on it, as well as every little bit of assorted "stuff".
I guess the solution would be just to have a rug made of cat hair and floor lint.
I decided to alter a winter horse blanket for Wonder since I could do that inside the house, as the opening around the neck was too large and it hung down on her chest. I managed to take it in, and it fits her much better now.
I looked at a service in the city that will wash horse blankets, as I HAVE tried to do it at home using the big stock tank, but it's very labor intensive and I don't know if I got them very clean. We'll see.
My Sweetie got a few weird food items from T&T to try. Some kind of mushroom sauce that is really too salty for me, but does have a nice flavor otherwise. Maybe if I used a teaspoon in a stir fry..Too salty as a topping or a dipping sauce.
We let everyone out, we walked around the pasture for a while. He's renting the fence post pounder tomorrow to try to fix some posts that Wonder has rubbed loose, and we checked to see what else needs doing.
He is planning to go help his friends move in the city, but later in the day when I'm hopefully at the barn, so it's not eating up "our" time.
We watched "The Mule", which is a Clint Eastwood movie. It was good, but not GOOD.
