Today I am grateful for:

Finally getting lots of sleep. It was so lovely just to lie there half awake with the window open and a warm breeze coming in.

Not too demanding today, though somewhat paralyzed as always by the things I "could" be doing.

After a great deal of deliberation, I chose to call the dental clinic back and change my appointment from pulling that tooth to seeing if we can fill it. I've been looking at the teeth as best I can, and they don't look awful. No worse than my other molars.

I won't be getting the same dentist as the one who did the x-rays, that's the weird thing about this clinic. You just keep getting whomever is available unless you REALLY care about who you have as a dentist.

I will try to have a better discussion with this dentist about my options, and whether the wisdom teeth are actually rotting, or if they are just being pre-emptive.

I did talk with Sister E for a while, their poor dog has had some kind of sore on it's nose for some time now. They tried prednisone, which didn't help, and more recently a strong oral antibiotic which has helped a bit, but it's still there.

There's thought of it being cancer, but would cancer improve with antibiotics? I don't know. I did encourage my sister to at least ask the vet a few more leading questions, and see what they might do if it is cancer. For some reason, my sister seems to think that if the dog has skin cancer on it's nose, that's it, "no treating that"...but why not at least find out more about it?

Then I did chores, got fuel in the car, and headed to the barn.

It is SO DRY and dusty around here. It's not excessively hot, but I don't even know when we last got rain. The air is full of dust, and we're getting those red sunsets.

River was okay for breathing at least, and while he was his usual "work as little as possible" self, he wasn't breathing too hard, considering.

R's daughter L rode with us, and we chatted a lot. It was fun. She's 18 and at a point in her life where there are a lot of possibilities ahead of her, and it's fun to talk about different things like celebrity crushes and her work at the horse rescue and such, instead of real estate prices and interest rates, pottery drama, or all the "getting old" talk I usually have in my life.

My Sweetie dropped in on his way home, which was very nice of him. A tire on his car was low, so hopefully that's not something to be concerned about.

I went home and my Sweetie had let the animals out for a while, and I brought them in again. We chatted for a while before he went to bed.

I hope your wisdom tooth may be saved after all.

My primary dentist was clear that he did not want to fill wisdom teeth, but the hygienist said - Talk to the other dentist in the office; she doesn't have a problem with issues like this. And here we are.

It was definitely my (highly regarded, well-esteemed and otherwise trusted) dentist's opinion. But it was NOT necessary to yank out that tooth, or three others.

There's that, and there's also avoiding the gaunt look that happens when the teeth are removed.

The wisdom tooth goes very deep into the jawline. I'm glad to hear you were able to save yours.
