Sep. 12th, 2019 01:33 amA moment of remembrance.
For getting our new refrigerator. You know what? I don't think I have ever had a new refrigerator. When I was younger, I rented places. My sweetie and I first bought a house and it had a refrigerator, and we replaced it with a used one from his work place. Same thing when we bought our acreage, it had a fridge, and at some point we got a free one that was newer and used it. That one started having problems with sealing, and it was pooling with water all the time, and we got a nice looking used one about a month ago, and it worked for about a week and then it stopped cooling. So we just bought a new one.
I am grateful for a new fridge. Our food was going bad, it was gross, and hard to plan meals. I hate throwing away food I just bought. I hate pouring rotten milk into my morning coffee.
That I paid the extra fee to have the fridge delivered. It is TOTALLY WORTH IT to have someone else get it in the back of the truck, drive it here, lug that thing up the stairs, take the front door off the hinges to make room, take the old fridge outside, and install the new one including changing the direction that the door opens. TOTALLY WORTH it. My husband and I brought a fridge into this house about a month ago (the second hand one that broke down), and it was awful, stressful, and honestly my husband picked the hardest way to get it in here.
A good lesson on River. More poles, working at normal trot, collected trot, and extended trot. He was relaxed and soft today.
The barn owner got a tiny little terrier puppy that weighs about a pound.
Socialising with others was good. I really do like the people at this barn.
Getting a load of crap to the dump, and having a nice visit with the woman who runs it. Finding some large pieces of nice counter top that had been torn out of someone's kitchen, that might make good counter space for a craft area, or maybe for someone else.
Going for a pasture walk with Roxy and my sweetie. We haven't done that in a while.
A nap, with intense kitty snuggles.
