Sep. 20th, 2025 12:43 amToday I am grateful for:
Decent sleep.
Getting a phone call letting me know I now have an appointment for a consultation about my lipoma.
That my Sweetie was actually in the house when I woke up. What a nice thing that is.
I didn't realize that today it was feasible for me to go with him on his errand day, since he wasn't going to go climbing in the evening because he has been under the weather.
That means we could go to the city, do some things, and he could just take me to my ride time with River and stay.
So, I decided to go with him because there were things I wanted to do.
We went to do his errand first, which was to pick up a box of special nails for his nail gun, which are literally available at ONE place in the city because his air nailer is one he got in Wyoming, and takes weird nails that most guns don't use.
Then we went to T&T grocery store in the big mall. It's an Asian food store, and that's always fun. It really feels like you've traveled somewhere, because most of the shoppers are Asian, and the food is mostly unfamiliar, and has Chinese labels with an English one slapped on it somewhere, and the food is stuff like a plastic vacuum pack with a whole mummified octopus in it. Not kidding.
Of course there are the less jarring foods like fun cookies and lots of different soy sauce, canned fruits, and so on.
I got a few packages of mushroom "jerky" that I quite like, some dried mushrooms for cooking, some bamboo shoots, some pickled thing, and a fancy tin of Pu-erh tea.
Then we went to an aquarium/fish store that carries the turtle food we use, and I got some of the special UV bulbs to help the turtle make Vitamin D.
Then we went to the barn.
We chatted for a while with R and L. We showed L the food we got, and apparently they've never gone to an Asian food store.
Really? Not even out of pure curiosity?
River was in a decent mood. He hit the jackpot and got to clean up one of R's horse's mash that they didn't finish, as well as his.
We worked on our homework, that hindquarter yield in motion, as well as the diagonal yield. I did ride him, and worked on getting a consistent trot, not speeding up on the straightaway. I did stand up too.
We stayed for the woman with health issues's lesson. My Sweetie took River to nice grass in the yard and let him graze while I worked with Poppy, a chubby little sweetheart.
We did a lot of walking around the yard for that lesson; it was such a nice evening.
It's really quite something for this young woman, to get to ride a horse around like that for an hour every week, and it's important for her to interact with R and myself.
We came home and I made some of the fun food for supper. Something caused a bit of stomach upset, but it's hard to know what did it, as I ate three different things that we bought today. Kind of surprising because I hardly EVER have a problem digesting food. My stomach is generally like a happy go lucky honey badger, afraid of little.
The tea was packaged in a fancy tin, and then inside it was in individually wrapped compressed pucks. I had kind of thought it was a tin of loose tea, so having little pucks made it seem a bit pricey, though it is good tea. It's lovely presentation if nothing else.

Date: 2025-09-21 05:34 am (UTC)I'm apprehensive about a surgery that is somewhat elective, in that the lipoma doesn't hurt or cause discomfort, but it is large.
It makes me self conscious, and I don't wear short sleeves or tank tops, and I don't feel comfortable going swimming anymore; something that I used to love.
I feel like in certain situations, like if you were to go clothes shopping with friends, I wouldn't feel like I could do that, or a hot tub party (not that it's a big part of my life).
Just the idea that I am always aware of the lipoma, and how it affects my appearance.
I MISS wearing dresses with no sleeves. They hardly even make summer dresses with sleeves, so I often layer a shirt over them.
With other shirts, I have to make sure they will fit loosely enough that it isn't prominent. It's just ALWAYS a consideration on a daily basis.
It would make a big difference in how I feel about my appearance if I could have it removed or reduced.
