Sep. 24th, 2025 01:59 amToday I am grateful for:
Good sleep, and not feeling like I had to leap into action.
I had a relaxed approach to the day, THEN I leaped into action.
Once I got going, I did the dishes, changed the sheets, did a load of laundry, changed the cat litter, and vacuumed the cat litter room.
Then I went outside and did chores. I began by letting everyone out into their pastures (I typically do that in the evening, but with the shorter days I am trying to do it earlier so they get a chance to be out).
Then I was going to do a bit of painting in the shed, because that HAS to be done soon, but I also had to get the squash in because it might freeze tonight.
The squash.
Oh my, the squash.
When I realized how many squash there were....
I don't know how many squash there are, a hundred? It's a lot. I brought them in pails, and I think I made five or six trips with two big pails each time.
I THINK most of them are spaghetti squash, which is good, because we like those. Still, we're going to have to give at least half of them away.
A few pumpkins, the last of the zucchini off the vines.
Well, that's done.
Then I went to the barn.
River and I had a very zen session. We're not gearing up for anything specific, so we went over the usual stuff, and it was such a nice evening, I was just content to be present with him.
The person who came for a lesson has a new dog as of this summer, so I got to meet Wally.
Then I came home, and my Sweetie had supper ready, and after we chatted he went to bed. We're TRYING to get him in bed by 9 pm, because he gets up at 4:30 am. What a ridiculous time to have to get up.
