Today I am grateful for:

Decent sleep, but still getting up in decent time to go to town.

I pretty much went straight to pottery from home, after doing normal chores and getting fuel. Nice that the construction around that area seems to be finished.

There were people at the studio today, so that was nice.

I AM a little tired of people expressing opinions about things at the studio, but who are not willing to make it to the meetings where they might be able to express those opinions in a useful way.

I managed to throw parts of a potential tea pot.

One person from the studio put on a tutorial for making mugs with handles last Saturday. I wasn't able to attend, but I talked with her. She said it turned out well, and everyone learned a lot.

I'm glad, because this was one of the initiatives of our Communications Committee, to foster sharing of skills and to have people from the different classes have a chance to meet each other.

Then I got groceries, and chose not to go to Winner's today.

It was nice to get done groceries a bit early as a result, and when I got home my Sweetie had let everyone out into their pastures for a while, and he got a bit done on a shed.

So, because he had already let everyone out for a bit, I could go right into working with Dandy.

Since it was getting dark, we went straight to working with the cart, in the same easy to release manner, and together we walked around the pasture. I did still have time to do ground driving after.

Dandy is a fussy little guy, and I wonder if this is just who he is, or if it will settle down a bit as he gets more used to everything. By fussy, I mean he gets impatient standing while I get the harness on, or if we take too long doing anything. He sometimes stamps his little feet or gets a bit mouthy. Nothing horrible, but it feels like he's got some tension, and I'm hoping this will pass as we do more with him.

Overall, he still did well today, and with the cart he seemed far more interested in what grass he could snatch while we walked, and wasn't paying much attention to the cart itself.

Then we came in, ate, and chatted about tomorrow.

My Sweetie took tomorrow off so he could drive me to an consultation about my lipoma. It's nothing more than a consultation, so we'll see where that takes us.

LAST NIGHT/EARLY MORNING: When I went out to do chores, there were the most AMAZING Northern Lights! A huge belt of them that went all the way from East to West. I see Northern Lights fairly often, but often just a bit of a display. This was like seeing a full orchestra.

I laid the couch cushion from our outdoor swing on the grass like a mattress, and covered myself with a horse blanket and just watched the sky for a while. So beautiful.

Nice that there's so much work going on - here's to a long, warm, attenuated autumn.
