Today I am grateful for:

Good sleep.

That my Sweetie made his way home today, and that his trip was uneventful.

I had a good phone conversation with Sister E, where she was once again stationary. We have much better conversations when that is the case.

I went to see River, and he had good energy and breathing today, as is often the case when the weather turns crisp. He doesn't thrive in the summer heat and dust.

We worked on our usual, and again I explored the feeling of being a dance partner with him.

I briefly saw R and K, as they returned from doing a clinic today. They have clinics every weekend in October this year.

I made a point of giving some attention to the adult barn cats. With Earl, the Ancient Mariner Cat, you never know how many times we have left to snuggle.

Then I went upstairs and snuggled with the new baby kittens. They are wonderful little bundles of fuzz, purring the whole time and making tiny little "mew" noises.

I was very patient and mindful with opening and closing the door to their area, as they tend to rush through the door both when you arrive and when you try to leave.

I came home and talked with my Sweetie on the phone (hands free for him) to keep his morale up for the last stretch, which can feel like forever after driving all day.

Then he arrived, and we chatted while he came down a bit from the drive before he headed to bed. He took tomorrow off from work so he can recover, and so that we have a day together since he's been gone all weekend.

I've got far too much tea as well, and don't really drink it anymore; it's got a certain asceticism to it unless there is a lot of sugar, milk and cake involved. Cake!

A friend gave me a thrifted white linen tablecloth as a birthday present. I should boil up a hundred packets and dye it.

A stark white linen tablecloth won't look as charming as one that's gently tea-dyed. I tea-dyed a tutu for an antique-looking felted bear a few years ago. It was lovely.
