Today I am grateful for:

Sleep, and no feeling of needing to rush out of bed today.

I talked with Sister E today, and she's having issues with having something that's a cross between vertigo and motion sickness that might be coming from a few different things. She gets low blood sugar, she has low blood pressure, her glasses are a bit off, she has hearing issues. You combine that, and sometimes she just gets "woozy" and has to lie down for a while to let it settle.

We talked about other things, until at one point I made a joke about "her ADHD acting up".

She kind of responded with "oh, does it seem like that's me?". Well...yes.

She has had a lot of issues with being organized, she can't sit still, she has to run back into the house about five times or more every time she wants to go somewhere to grab something she forgot, she has a hard time finishing something without being distracted by something else, then something else...same with trying to tell a story all the way to the end.

I didn't mean it to be a criticism, just an observation. I thought she was aware of these tendencies in herself, but apparently not? She's 75 years old and didn't notice? She didn't give any credence to her husband's frustration that she can't just sit and watch a movie with him?

Well, I hope I didn't come across as blunt or mocking. I just told her YES, she has a lot of the behavior I would link to having ADHD, but it's not BAD, it's just something to be aware of?

Awkward.

I went outside and let everyone out for a while, did chores, and spent some time walking around and putting things away before the snow flies.

Lots of things. I coiled up the garden hose and put it away, picked up pails and plant pots that somehow were EVERYWHERE and put them away, took a clean horse blanket out to the trailer for storage until needed, and put away our nice metal outdoor chairs and table. I put away the paddling pool we have out for Roxy in the summer.

There's a lot more to be put away, but I can't do everything in one day.

Then I worked with Dandy, and it felt like he was not comfortable with the cart today. He showed signs of being anxious, had a little fit in the shafts which is upsetting, though he was better after a while.

I suppose having a week or so off isn't helpful?

Maybe he was just hangry? They were late getting fed.

About that time, my husband got home. He made supper and we chatted about his day. He was late coming home because he stopped in at our work friend's place to do a bit more work on their roof. Sigh.

We watched a movie called "Strings" from 2004. The story itself was a bit boring, but the concepts around the whole film being done with puppets was astonishing. There were ideas like their life force coming from strings that came from the sky, that they were in some ways organic and could decay, and that their buildings by necessity lacked roofs.

The production was really good, and the whole effort that went into how the film looked was something I wouldn't have thought possible with puppets.

I hope this is the weekend in which the bros all come over and do a flip heck ton of work on your house and shed.

Better'n nothing, I guess.

It's getting cold here, finally, and now I have to wait for a day over 10˚C to finish priming and painting. But the denizen blew and bagged four bags of leaves and mowed this morning, while I quietly fainted.

He asked, "Did you faint?" LOL

The weather is not warm enough for me to finish the porch. I'm going to take away the unsightly dropcloth and stepladder and wait until we get a temperature above 10˚C.
