Today I am grateful for:

My Sweetie has the hired carpenter here today, some friends too, and they got the tin on the new garden shed. It has a pair of proper doors too.

I worked on bringing my nervous system back down today, after days of being elevated from a lot of social engagement and house cleaning.

I enjoyed sleeping on the comfy new mattress, though it is weird how tall beds are now. Why? I mean, I'm fairly tall, but it's so high that I can't easily sit on it to put my socks on. If I'm properly sitting on the bed, my feet don't touch the floor.

I did do normal chores.

I talked with Sister E and Trainwreck, and kept everything light and chatty.

I am blown away by the difference between Trainwreck last year, and Trainwreck this year. Last year she was more or less trying to die. This year, she is nonchalantly discussing her pottery class and how great the community center is in her town. I wonder what that's like for her.

I let everyone out into their pastures, and I sat with the goats in their pasture, since lately I've been a bit concerned about the neighbor's dog.

It's not an aggressive dog, but it is huge and very curious. The neighbor's property directly touches the goat's larger pasture, and it IS possible that it could get in with the goats.

I feel like it makes sense for me to be with the goats when they are out, just to be on the side of caution.

Then I worked with Dandy. My Sweetie was able to assist us.

I long lined Dandy once each way around the pasture, then did some work with getting him in the shafts (not hitching) with lots of praise and then bringing him out. The focus was on not overwhelming him, giving him breaks, and rewarding patience.

We did do a bit of work with him "quick release" looped into the shafts of the cart and my husband carrying some of the cart's weight. Dandy was still tense with this, even with breaks and praise, though he didn't do too badly.

We also worked on him remaining calm when walking out of the shafts, and then doing a bit of work with me after leaving the shafts so it wasn't "instant relief".

Then my Sweetie showed me the progress made today, which looked great! He showed me what he's been working on in the pottery shed for electrical work too. It's looking very thorough in there.

D sent some images of her kiln for us, which helps my husband with planning.

We came in and my husband had another hour long bath (I mean, who really needs to bath for an hour every night?) then we ate and watched a movie from the 1950's; "20,000 Leagues Below the Sea".

It was pretty amazing as far as the effects and the quality of the sets.
