Nov. 3rd, 2025 01:27 amToday I am grateful for:
Decent sleep, though daylight savings made the whole day feel strange.
My Sweetie had the hired carpenter here again, and that's perfect because they were getting a lot done this weekend. I feel like they're hitting a good rhythm working together.
The interior of the pottery shed is now sheathed in OSB, awaiting the plastic sheeting that will be easy to keep clean. The building is well insulated and sealed (with ventilation to prevent condensation) and it should be pretty easy to keep warm.
The hired guy seems pretty interested that we do pottery, and we invited him into the house to have a look at some of the things we've made. He was pretty impressed that we made "real" pottery (not sure what he was expecting).
I didn't do a lot today, as it just felt like I was waiting to see when my Sweetie was finished for the day.
I did do normal chores and such, Mount Dishes, and some laundry.
Then we went to the barn to see River.
He was okay today, thankfully. Not rigid with fear like last time. Yet, he was odd when I rode him.
I was just asking for him to relax at the trot and collect a bit, but he was just tightening up and went faster instead. This isn't normal for him. He generally has the softest, slowest gaits.
So, who knows. It took him a long time to drop his head and just relax, and when he finally did we called it a night.
Then we went upstairs and spent some time with the kittens. R sat with us for a while too. It's been very social to sit with the kittens and other people tend to come and sit too.
Those kittens are certainly getting well socialized!
We came home and ate, and chatted for a while before my husband headed off to bed. I hope this new mattress helps him with his often sore back.
