Nov. 6th, 2025 01:54 amToday I am grateful for:
Decent sleep.
Having the time to really listen to my friend D, who really seems to need to talk right now.
I confirmed my appointment for removing my lipoma.
I did some texting back and forth with friends in the city who want to meet up for a birthday celebration on their part, and I looked for nice bakeries where we might find something lovely to bring with us.
I did chores, and put a blanket on Wonder in anticipation of snow or freezing rain later tonight.
Then I went to the barn for our lesson.
River was once again sort of shut down, which is how he's been all week. I don't know if it's the weather (so much wind, and getting colder) or they had a moose, or what.
So the first half of our lesson was working to bring him back into his body so we could communicate, to get him to relax and loosen up, and to focus on me.
I'm glad we did that, because though I do KNOW these techniques, I'm not sure we ever used them this way before. We've done them to improve connection, but I don't know that we ever did them to help River when he gets disconnected like this.
He really relaxed and let go of his tension, and I bet he felt so much relief. He released and yawned a lot.
Then we recorded a walk/trot test for an online competition.
I spent a bit of time with R upstairs with the kittens.
Then I came home, my Sweetie had just gotten home as well.
We made supper and chatted for a while.
