Today I am grateful for:

Good sleep.

No real agenda today, just time to be home.

Putter putter. Putting away clean dishes, doing laundry, feeding animals.

I did talk with Trainwreck, which was more positive that Sister S, oddly enough. Who would have thunk?

There was an odd moment of schadenfreude from Trainwreck though, about me having a lipoma. It was a split moment, but I know it was there. As if me having something "ugly" like that brought me down a few notches.

Well, to be honest, it would take a LOT for me to truly be brought to her level, and it would take fifty years of alcoholism and manipulation of others and a total lack of remorse for it to happen as well.

"Her level" isn't about poverty or circumstance as much as it is/was about total self-absorption and complete lack of self-awareness.

I did chores, let everyone out for a while, spent some time watching the goats eat.

I love watching the goats in the pasture, eating. They walk around nipping the tops off of small saplings, and they have an expression of blank pleasure that is so endearing. Sasha gets into one sided arguments with the saplings, and has little mock fights with them.

Then I came in after walking a few laps around the horse pasture with Roxy and putting everyone back in.

I had a proper bath finally, though I didn't soak the incision, I sat upright in the tub.

The incision and stitches look pretty lumpy to me, though clean. There's a lot of loose skin. I have to manage my expectations, and be patient.

After all, Roxy had a big, gnarly incision on her leg from removing HER lump (hers was abnormal tissue) and now you would have a hard time seeing the scar. It's all smooth and flat, and not noticeable at all.

When my Sweetie came home, we changed the bandage again and cleaned the site, and finally got the last of the residue from the original dressing off of me (it is very persistent).

Then we watched the last two episodes of "The White Lotus". For all the extraneous smut, the writing for this show is pretty great. There is a lot going on with the characters. The ending was pretty wild.

You can buy Cicaplast balme 5 at Shoppers Drug Mart by La Roche-Posay; it's good for healing scars.

There’s also a cicaplast gel that is wonderful for scar treatment, it’s especially formulated to minimize scars. I hope it will look less lumpy soon, and I’m confident the skin will tighten up fast.
