Dec. 4th, 2025 01:33 amToday I am grateful for:
Good sleep.
The recently new mattress seems to be working out for my Sweetie, his back's been doing a lot better. I still feel weird about how tall it is, and I'm not a short person. I feel like a kid trying to get into a "grown up" bed.
I chatted with Trainwreck for a while, and once again she was talking a million miles an hour all about everyone else, and when I tried to put in ONE SENTENCE about how my incision was healing, she was talking over me. I tried several times to speak, and she just kept talking over me.
What the actual hell. I wonder if now that she isn't drinking, some background issue like ADHD is coming to the surface. Either that or she's on some other drug now.
It's rude. I listened to her for a LONG time and totally gave her the floor, and I wanted to talk a tiny bit about me, and she's unable to just let me do that.
Well, at least I did hear some news about family. That it sounds like Mom's estate is getting finalized, hopefully before the end of the year so that the executors don't have to file a tax return for her next year. That my niece who doesn't speak to me finally got her driver's licence at something like forty years old, and that enabled her to get a better job.
That one of Trainwreck's granddaughters was diagnosed with autism, and apparently her parents are doing NOTHING to help her cope. This is the granddaughter who is now a teenager who wets herself all the time, is very socially awkward, aaaannnd, they're "homeschooling" her, which may mean she's learning nothing at home.
Then I spoke with D, who recently moved her Mom into long term care. D is really determined now to move to B.C. to start a new life, because I think she's become stagnant here. I'll miss her.
Then I went to do chores, and it's hovering at 0 C today, which means the snow is soft and wet.
I had to be careful driving to the barn, as it makes the roads a bit slippery. I took my time and was fine.
River did well today in our lesson. More minute detailed focus on Liberty stuff, and in ridden work he was really nice at the trot today, with only a bit of pull to the wall, and he softened up when I asked him.
It was nice to chat with others a bit.
I came home and my Sweetie had put up some more lights outside, which is now looking quite festive.
We ate, and watched an episode of "The White Lotus". STILL no smut, which makes me wonder if they have something horrific planned.
