Today I am grateful for:

Finally getting some sleep.

Nice to have my Sweetie home when I got up.

Mildly frustrating when he started off the day by saying "I should go back to town today because I didn't get my hair cut yesterday, and we're nearly out of eggs. Why didn't I get eggs yesterday!".

I told him that his hair was fine, and he'd be better to get it cut right before he goes back to work.

Never mind that his barber is likely not open today, but I bet he would have driven all the way to town without bothering to check and see if he were open.

So I told him we could pick up eggs at the small store in the village and save a trip.

I started some laundry and we did chores and such, and we headed to the barn a little earlier than usual.

We picked up the eggs on the way to the barn.

River did well today, good energy and focus.

We saw R for a while and chatted, and I gave her the gifts for her, L, and K. I got each of them a nice handmade soap from that place in the city, and it seemed well-received.

I was hoping to give them mugs too, but they aren't going to be fired now until after Christmas.

We headed home and my husband got ambitious about cooking and made some soup and roasted veggies, which was nice for a change from our usual fare.

Then we watched a short film from the National Film Board of Canada that was made in the very small town near our family farm, and several people from our area (including myself and my pony) were in it. My husband hadn't seen it before, and I was thinking about a few days ago because we saw Tantoo Cardinal in another movie, and I said "if you were to play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, I would likely only be two degrees of separation from an awful lot of actors because I was in that movie with Tantoo Cardinal as a kid".

Tantoo Cardinal has been in movies with Leo DiCaprio, Kevin Costner, she had a role in the Outlander series, and on Westworld...she's been acting a LONG time.

Anyhow, I always think that was a cool thing to have done as a kid.

After the film, we decorated our tree (and a smaller auxiliary tree) and it looks nice.

We sat and chatted while looking at the trees and listened to some Roger Whitaker Christmas music (my Mom loved him).
