Dec. 27th, 2025 02:56 amToday I am grateful for:
Having time together over the holidays with my Sweetie.
My Sweetie headed to the city in the afternoon to go climbing, and to do a bit of catch up grocery shopping.
After doing chores I headed to the riding barn.
It was snowing by the time I got there, and there was already a good accumulation by the time I finished working with River.
It wasn't terribly cold, but around -15 C. It actually felt okay, after the much colder temperatures we've been having.
River did well overall. Good focus and energy. He still wanted to pull a bit going to the right, but we worked on that.
I tossed a very light sheet over his regular winter blanket, because his regular blanket has gotten torn in a couple of places, and I can't take it off of him to repair until the weather improves. The light sheet is just to keep the snow out of the tears.
It is supposed to get very cold again overnight, and into tomorrow, and then warm up again over the weekend.
I hope it stabilizes to something acceptable to the goats, as they've been inside the garage for a long stretch this time. It can't be fun for them.
I came home from the barn (and drove very carefully, as the roads were pretty snow covered and it was still snowing) and was happy to get inside our nice, warm home.
We've been running the wood stove a lot this week, and I'm grateful for that too, as it's likely offsetting our heating costs.
My Sweetie came home and went outside again to get more wood, and then came in and we watched "Deadpool and Wolverine" together. If you like that sort of thing, it's a great movie.
I spent some time fixing a hole in a pair of my Sweetie's jeans, fixing a toque of his, and starting repairs on a holster for his measuring tape.
