Today I am grateful for:

Good sleep.

Managing to finally get out the door to go to the city.

I ended up feeling overwhelmed again very quickly, because although we had talked about going to the art gallery, my husband started adding things he wanted to do, which all of a sudden turns a "fun" day into an "errands" day.

I also was trying to get books from two different people on buy/sell. The one person I had made plans with two days earlier, but now they weren't answering my text letting them know we were on our way. By the time we got to the city, person no. 1 had still not responded, so I texted "well, never mind, we have other things to do today".

The second person's ad was misleading. They posted their book for sale as if they lived in the city. They did not. They lived in a rural area outside the city, but "they could try to find a way to meet up with us in the city around six pm". I had already been back and forth with them (and they said nothing about living outside of the city at first) and by the time they explained that they would have to do some kind of complicated meet up that would feel like trying to dock with the Space Station, I just said "never mind".

Okay. Great.

My husband agreed to drop one item from his shopping errands, which took some pressure off, and meant we had time to get to the art gallery.

Things felt a bit less stupid once we got to the art gallery. They still hadn't changed anything though from our last visit a few weeks ago, so that was a bit disappointing.

I really believe in trying to go to the art gallery once a month since we do buy a membership, and because I know it affects them to have good attendance numbers for grants and such. If you don't use the things you love, they disappear.

Ditto for going to the used book store afterwards.

Then the person from Marketplace texted that they had shut their phone off for the day (because we all do that when we are aware of someone from Marketplace trying to buy something on a day we had agreed upon two days before), didn't realize I was trying to get hold of them, and that they would leave the book in a bag outside for me to pick up whenever we had time to get it.

Okay.

Then we ate at a different for us vegan restaurant. The seating was awful, it was a small, cramped space with tiny tables and uncomfortable chairs, and every time the door opened it was a blast of cold air because we were sitting right beside it. Things improved marginally when we asked if there was any where else we could sit, and the server said we could sit at the table further inside.

That was better, but it was also right at the till, where all of the delivery drivers were standing for their pickups.

I just got the feeling that most of their business was delivery.

The food was pretty good. Not particularly healthy, but vegan. The server was very nice and chatty, and did a good job with keeping our water filled and so on. No complaints there.

I don't know if I'd go back because of the crappy seating, but it was otherwise very good.

Then we went to Simon's because my Sweetie wanted to get MORE socks (I'm a bit surprised, we'd bought quite a lot of socks only two weeks ago, but he likes these socks and wanted more. Okay.).

We also got him some new boxers (his old ones are almost see through) and we bought a nice set of sheets that we don't need at the moment, but we will set aside for when we wear out our current sets.

Since the marketplace address was more or less on our route home, we picked up the book.

Then we headed home, carefully (it was snowing again) and watched an older movie called "Before I Wake" that was pretty meh.
