Jan. 5th, 2026 01:59 amToday I am grateful for:
Good sleep.
Time with my Sweetie before facing the day.
Getting a return call about singing bowl vendor that was at the recent rock and mineral show.
We did chores and such, and he decided to stay home and bake for his lunch, and I headed to the riding barn.
I feel a bit bad that I pulled River away from his supper, though I know there will still be lots there when I put him back.
It looks like one of the blanket repairs is already coming apart again. Sigh.
River did well, with good focus and energy. He's still having issues under saddle going to the right, and I wonder if it's something I'm doing, or if he's sore somewhere.
It was overall a good session, and I am very grateful to have him. It's good for me to have something to do to stay physically active through the winter, and a "third place" (though often it is just the two of us).
I came home and my Sweetie was wrapping up his lunch baking, and made supper. I changed the sheets and threw them in the wash.
No movie tonight, early bedtime for my Sweetie to head back to work after the holidays.
I'm glad he got so much time off, and that we got to spend so much time together. I enjoyed the break from feeding the house animals when I get up, and having him make me breakfast, and the help he usually offers doing chores and extras.
