Jan. 12th, 2026 02:19 amToday I am grateful for:
Good sleep.
My Sweetie being at home.
It's nice that he feeds the animals so I can sleep a bit more, and he often makes breakfast.
A fairly leisurely day, though we did go outside to do chores, and we then went to see what we could do in the pottery studio.
I scrubbed at the fronts of a set of drawers to clean off decades old tape that was used as labels, and wiped out the insides.
My Sweetie worked to assemble some shelves, as well as the kiln. Then we put boxes containing tools and glaze raw material onto the shelves. There feels like more space with all of that picked up.
I then went to the barn to see River, and my Sweetie continued to work on things.
River did pretty well, right up until some yahoo was setting off fireworks again. He is pretty much useless if there's fireworks, just so worried and distracted.
It's very frustrating when people are setting off fireworks just randomly. Do they not care about all the animals in the countryside that likely freak out every time they do this? All you can hear after they fire them off is all the dogs in the area for miles around barking.
So I didn't really accomplish anything with River after that.
Sigh.
As I was putting River out, K was outside doing chores, and we talked for awhile.
It's kind of uncomfortable, because K is very worried about immigrants, and he often likes to talk about how they're "ruining things". Sigh. Not in an angry way, but in a fearful way.
Then he wants to talk about religion. It's hard for me to be diplomatic when he talks about HIS religion as being "real", but religions like Scientology and Mormonism as being cults. I mean, I agree that Scientology and Mormonism are flat out cons, but AHEM, Catholicism has it's own claims to fame as far as greed, power-mongering, exploitation and tax evasion.
I tend to prefer conversations about religion with fellow Agnostics/Atheists. No worry about offending anyone there.
It was lovely outside again today, and only -1 C when I drove home. For those in the know, that's perfect because it's one degree below melting, so the roads are still good.
So I got home about an hour later than usual because of talking so long with K, and my Sweetie and I made supper together, but he had to head straight to bed.
