Mar. 1st, 2019 12:50 amSunshine, and okay temperatures.
Feeling like I had lots of time to do things today. I went to a pottery meeting at 7pm, but I had lots of time in town first to buy groceries, have supper, and go to the video store (yup, we still have one, and it's pretty busy still. I buy DVDs, because we don't have cable, and our internet isn't good enough to stream, so I buy the sets of series, and lots of movies. This place has a used DVD bin too, that I use extensively).
The meeting was pretty heated, but I'm glad I went. I feel like I might make some progress in one or two personal directions. This meeting was sort of a mini-meeting, of "representatives" from each class (no time to explain all of this weirdness), and I filled in for the rep from our class. One other rep (who is also an instructor) was being incredibly self-centered, basically throwing tantrums until she got her way. I feel bad, because she helped me and my husband get into this studio back when it was being run like a private club, but she's become a baby-like tyrant. She just wants to control everything. What I am grateful for, is that one of the other reps seems interested in helping me pursue my desire to learn more about making glazes, and to try to use porcelain clay (vetoed last year by the same baby-tyrant, for no good reason).
I'm hoping that I can get the opportunity to keep growing in my pottery skills.
I also got to see my dog-walking/riding/pottery friend; she was at the meeting.
My husband is home tonight.
My barn horse-feeding partner is picking up the spring vaccine for River (she's buying one for her horse) and thus saving me a trip.
Today overall, was a great big string of gratitude. For sunshine, feeling rested, not feeling stressed for time, feeling healthy and able to meet today's challenges, doing reasonably well with the social skills (schmoozing), for having support in the form of my barn friend and the other person at the meeting, and for my loving animals.
Wednesday: For a good lesson on River, lots of good socializing with people at the barn, the friend with the giant warmblood rode him today, and she did well (yay!).
I also worked on the painting from that paint nite thing a while ago, and since it's acrylic I was able to do a lot to make it better. I'm pretty happy with it now.
