Today I am grateful for:

We didn't move the house onto the basement today, because the mover was delayed on another project. So, as far as I know, we're doing it tomorrow.

That's fine, because what we DID do today was get our septic tank replaced. We were going to do this anyhow, as our existing system was about 30 years old and due to be replaced anyhow, and we might as well do it when everything else is being torn up. It made sense. Better than having the tank start leaking or something. Everything went smoothly with that, and it's kind of amazing that it all got done in a day. They dug down with a backhoe, dug a HUGE hole again, put the tank and connected the pipe to the basement connection and to the septic field, and filled it all in again. This means that now when the house is moved onto the basement, we will be connected to the septic in a day or two and we can use the shower and bathroom etc.

A good riding lesson. River is a bit out of shape since I haven't been able to ride him enough what with his breathing and then his foot bothering him, as well as being away and busy with house stuff. His breathing was good today, and his foot wasn't bothering him, so the moons aligned long enough for us to have a good lesson. We practised the training level tests (I would have likely been able to do the level 1 tests if he were in better condition) that we will be doing at the Halloween show at the barn this upcoming weekend, and we did pretty well. I might have the chance to come and practise them again on my own before the show.

Coming home and having some quiet time reading. Then my sweetie and I pulled dishes and such out of the cupboards and put them in boxes on the floor. The mover says that our stuff shouldn't move around much, but I'm trying to be safe.
