Nov. 18th, 2019 12:57 amMore nice weather.
Finally finding the property where the basket weaving class was held. She just gave a location, not directions, and because of correction lines in the rural roads it was hard to find her. After having been there once, I could have given very simple directions that would have saved a lot of trouble.
A good day learning the basics of weaving a willow basket. I didn't finish during the class, and I hope I can figure out how to finish the top with a video she sent. It was interesting, and I hope to make more baskets, maybe with this same person. She's an expert weaver, and her baskets are amazing. She's a full on hippy, and seems to do a lot of the "back to nature" type crafts and food production. She and her family live in a straw bale house, sealed with concrete, with solar arrays and everything.
I managed to be disciplined enough to leave the class on time even though I wasn't finished, so that I could take my sweetie to the airport.
We had a nice supper in town, and he made his flight, no stress.
I spent some time working on the basket at home, and the cats had a ball with all the springy willow wands everywhere.
