Today I am grateful for:

The house is staying not bad for warm, though it is colder outside now.

My body is doing a better job of staying warm. When it first started getting cold this fall, I was freezing all the time. Now I seem to be okay at the same temperatures. Maybe my body had to figure out how to be warm at a different weight?

I got to do something useful today. Before my sweetie left for work, I wanted something to do that would help with the house, so he gave me a job I could do on my own, on my own time. It was to tie the rebar together. When you pour a basement (or any slab of concrete) floor, you have to make a grid out of metal rods (rebar) to add strength to the concrete. You have to tie the rebar at every intersection where two rods lay across each other (imagine loose weaving). So, probably close to a hundred joins that I tied with special wire ties.

Then I came in and got going on Christmas cards. I've already got the cards cut out (special shape this year), and tonight I chose a little watercolor of a winter forest to paint, one for each card. So, 27 little watercolor paintings to do. I did 7 tonight, but it took a long time because I had to get all set up and figure out the colors and how I was going to do it, etc.

The more I think about what was going on with my health a while ago, and what feels different now after cutting most sugar out of my diet, the more I'm realizing that I had more problems with sugar than I was ready to admit. I'm grateful that I made the changes to my eating that I have, and that I am feeling better.

For having the time to pursue my creative endeavors. I had so little time this summer, I really missed it.
