Dec. 3rd, 2019 02:35 amFinding some envelopes at the thrift store that will work for my hand made cards. Cheap, and recycling.
Getting everything I needed in town today. I had to get special cat food at the vet, drop two bags of books off at the recycling depot (they do free book exchange) a plumbing part for my sweetie at another store, stuff for River and dewormer for the ponies at another store, check the thrift store for the envelopes and some Christmas stuff, and get groceries. Lots of running around.
Seeing this one girl at her job at the grocery store. Years ago she came to the library when I worked there, and used to be in our craft programs. Now she's nearly an adult, and she works at the store I get groceries and she also rides in lessons at the barn where I board River. She used to seem a little reserved when I spoke to her, likely because I used to be an "adult" to her, and she's not sure how to talk to me now that we are both adults. Now she seems more comfortable with the dynamic, and that's nice. I like seeing familiar faces when I'm out and about.
Coming home and having a nice meal.
Got a few more things picked up and put away around the house. There are piles of stuff everywhere in what should be the dining room that never got dealt with properly. I want that room cleaned up so we can have people over for the holiday season.
In many ways, I am even grateful for my first world problems. I may think it's a bit stressful to run around buying things, but really, I'm grateful to have the means to do so, a good vehicle, the time to do this, the FREEDOM to do this, to live in a country of plenty, where it is mainly safe to go out alone and buy what I want. I'm grateful for all the reasons why I need to run errands; my animals, the house project, the holidays coming up. I am aware that spending a day shopping and running errands is a luxury in its own right.
