Today I am grateful for:

My sweetie and I spent most of the afternoon working on the basement together. Mostly I was back tying the re-bar together at the intersections. My sweetie had earlier put down the styrofoam insulation that will be under the concrete, laid down the rebar, and put the little stands under it to keep it at the right level. Then we both tied the intersections.

Then we came in and watched a movie together, and that was nice just to be together.

Sunday, December 8

Today I am grateful for:

A good ride on River. He wasn't jumpy today, and felt forward and just good in general. It was tough to work on anything specific because there were so many kids in the arena, and when it's crowded all you can really do is work on the rail. Nonetheless, it was a good ride. My riding friend was there too, after apparently having some kind of terrible illness that gave her the shits for four days.

My sweetie got the basement to a point where we should be able to have the concrete floor poured this week, though he won't be home (they shouldn't need him there to do their part). It was a bit of a mad scramble at the end of the day, because he also had to leave for his flight for work at 6 pm.

I worked a bit more on the Christmas cards, and I feel like they are done now. I just have to get them addressed and mailed.

I watched the 2009 version of Dorian Gray and enjoyed it.
