Today I am grateful for:

My sweetie was able to have a relaxed morning of just doinking around on the computer. He deserves to have some free time, and right now the pressure is much lower on the house stuff.

My sweetie was free to come with me to ride River. River was really good today. He got that bigger trot that I've been trying to get with him, was a teensy bit thinking about being spooky but got over it quickly, and worked really hard for me today. We rode with the barn owner, and that other rider that's always there.

After riding, we went home and got cleaned up and had a quick supper, and then went to visit some friends of ours. Our friend's Dad just passed away (he was quite elderly and had been ill for some time), and things have been quite stressful for them because now they are trying to help his Mom deal with the changes that are coming (moving, cleaning out the house, selling the house, moving their adult Down's Syndrome son to a community housing room), and his Mom doesn't want anything to change. They've been driving into town almost every day for the last month or so, trying to help her with chores and errands and arrangements. They're getting pretty burned out. It was nice just to be with them, and to have a low-key visit.
