Jan. 16th, 2020 11:25 pmManaging to get things done again today, in spite of the very cold weather. This cold snap is supposed to lift by Monday, and you cannot imagine how much I'm looking forward to that.
I managed to get to the post office during office hours to pick up a package. It was some rocks that I had left behind in Wyoming when we used to live there, from the rock shop where I was learning some skills. It cost a small fortune to mail, and I am amazed that they did this for me.
My husband is home earlier than usual from his job site; it was snowing so hard there that they shut down the job for safety. I'm glad he's home safe and they didn't have to delay his flight.
Getting to the thrift store. I found a bag of things for making jewelry that was very cheap, and stuff that I will use; some beads, some clasps, some crimp beads.
A quiet evening at home.
Wednesday:
A quiet day at home, just trying to stay out of the cold. I'm so grateful to have a warm home, and that we got what we needed done for winter.
I'm grateful for the ability to do my arts/crafts things, it keeps me sane in stretches like this.
For being able to watch movies at home at will. I remember as a kid, that being able to find a decent movie on television was tough. We only had the two normal channels, and the movies were on late at night, and there would be ONE MOVIE that night. It seems like Caddy Shack was the only movie on television for ten years straight. When I was a teen, they came out with VHS, but no way could we afford that. What a remarkable thing though, to be able to watch a movie at home when YOU wanted to, and watch it over and over again. Anyhow, I still marvel at being able to watch movies and television series at home at your convenience. I love the no commercials, and being able to pause it, or watch the other half later, to go back a bit if you missed something, to have captions. One of my lifelong pleasures.
