Today I am grateful for:

that I made it back and forth from the riding barn. We still have crappy road conditions from blowing snow.

A good riding lesson. We worked on leg yields at the trot.

Good socializing with others at the barn. I don't have much in the way of social connections right now, so I'm grateful I have the barn.

Watching "The Hurt Locker", and it was quite good.

Tuesday, March 3

Today I got stuck on the gravel road, still pretty close to home. Just a giant drift of snow that had hardened enough that I couldn't get through it. I was grateful that a neighbor came by really soon and pulled me out. Also grateful that another neighbor offered to help too. This guy is someone that I had a lot of problems with his dogs (they attacked my goats) a few years ago, and I wasn't very nice to him. I'm pleasantly surprised that he was even willing to help me, and it's kind of humbling.

I still managed to get to the gym by a different route, and had a decent workout. Nice to have somewhere to get out of the house.

Had some decent success with painting.

Monday, March 2

A good day in town. I met with a woman who was selling some wind chimes, and she told me they just sat in a drawer because she lives with her son and his wife, and they never let her put them up because they were too loud. I was saddened by her story, and I will let them make noise in my home.

I decided just to take the two garbage bags of clothing to the thrift store, after a different consignment store also being mysteriously closed (though I hadn't called ahead). Apparently consignment clothing is a sketchy business. I figured that I often find nice, sometimes new clothes at the thrift store for next to nothing, so maybe it was just my turn to donate some new and nearly new clothes. It all evens out in the end.
