Spending a bit of time in the room upstairs that is more or less a closet now. I did donate a small bag of clothes recently, and today I identified some more things I can donate. I also have a bunch of odds and ends of toiletries and so on, and chucked a few things that were old and yucky.
Having a riding lesson to look forward to made the day better. The owner R hasn't done lessons for the last 2 weeks because this is how she takes a break every year. She doesn't go anywhere, just lightens her load for a while, and catches up on things she needs to do at the barn before winter.
She also put down her very senior horse today, which is very sad for everyone. He was the leader of the herd, and always a gentle presence in the pasture. I was surprised that she still wanted to do lessons, but I guess she wanted to stay busy.
I still had a lesson with the other rider, but I was much happier with this one. I felt like the work we did was useful and productive, and that I got a fair share of instruction. At the end of the lesson, she took the time to review thoughts about the most recent online show that we entered, and new goals from reviewing our performance.
I came home and watched more Breaking Bad.
